Library-PicThe Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation Public Library located on beautiful Georgina Island, has been in operation since 1987.
Because of a unique partnership in 2004 with the Pickering Public Library we received the Minister’s Award for Innovation in the small public library category. The Georgina Island Native Literacy Program and the library run in partnership with each other.

Some of the programs that are offered out of the library are:

  • Free library membership
  • E learning
  • Skills upgrading
  • Beading Classes
  • Computer and Internet Access
  • Early Learning Literacy computers for children
  • Tutoring
  • Monthly Scrabble Potluck
  • Storytelling Kiosk
