Waabgon Gamig School

Welcome to our School

Waabgon Gamig is a band-operated school located on the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. Waabgon Gamig currently has two classrooms and 16 students from K – Grade 5. We will welcome 6 Junior Kindergarten students full time by June 2014 through our Prime Minister Award winning transition program. We deliver this program in partnership with the Niigaan Naabiwag Child Care Centre. Waabgon Gamig First Nation School follows the Ontario Elementary curriculum, our program however has a strong out-door base and offers students cutting edge environmental programming through our Mother Earth Mentorship program. We deliver this program in partnership with the Sticks and Stones Wilderness School. The school is located on Chief Joseph Snake Rd. in the center of the community.
